lucky horseshoe cupcake topper

This lucky in love horseshoe cupcake topper pairs perfectly with my delicious cowboy inspired Bread Pudding Cupcake with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting and Whisky-Soaked Raisins in my new book Man Candy and Cupcakes. Serve up this winsome combination to your favorite cowboy and you are bound to get  lucky!

Horseshoe topperWhat you need:

  • White fondant
  • Fondant tool or small knife
  • A little whiskey
  • Small paint brush
  • Bronze edible dust
  • End of a pastry tip
  1. Roll out the white fondant to 1/8 inch thickness. Using your knife or fondant tool, cut out a horseshoe shape.
  2. Mix the edible bronze dust with a touch of whiskey or some other high percentage alcohol (pour yourself a snifter while you are at it). Paint the horseshoe with this drunken dust. Place on parchment paper and allow to dry in the refrigerator.
  3. Once dry, use the end of the pastry tip to make 8-13 marks on the horseshoe to represent the “nails”. Place on top of your cupcake.
